Listening to the Wind

Listening to the Wind
Sometimes it’s best just to sit here listening
The sound of the Spirit moving in the silence
Anticipation in the air
The samplings of a gourmet chef
With all the smells and whistles
None of the thorns and thistles
But a balancing nonetheless
I break from far-off weary dreams
To embrace this quiet lull that seems
As nothingness is the norm
Yet the violent wind of storm
Awakes me to the difference
I listen, calmer, deeper still
While the windowpane is shaking
I carry on to the throne of God
Where everything is breaking
Where everyone has entered dance
Where no friend is forsaking
It is the best world of them all
For no fright is resting there
It is the greatest world of all
Only love is resting here
I am awakened to the difference
There is no end it seems
To this place of living, immortal dreams
Where colors are tasted
Great is delight
Where sights are mere wonders
Never is night
Except where sons do not shine
Once again, I am awakened to the difference

The Wings

The Wings

A stirring…
Oh, I feel a stirring
Just as the butterfly wing brings on the typhoon
The wings of the Spirit are moving; the Wind does resume
Those winds sweep across the universe
He is swooping and soaring and we do the same
When we enter into the glory of the incomprehensible Name
The Spirit’s great talons are sharpened and shine
They pierce all that is yours; they pierce all that is mine

A stirring
A whirring
Now all is blue, All is orange
Shifting, moving, Mystery in bodily and spiritual form
This, this is what is the norm
Are you ready for the twists and turns?
Are you ready for the ride?
Are you ready to fly through the portals and the nebulae?
And gather all of that inside
Simply so it may be released, simply so it might be contained
Simply so that in the desert there can be a pouring of Mighty Rain
Watching the creating, watching what is to be
Sensing, moving, being still
In the place where I am free

I feel the breeze upon my face

The Shore

I often wonder if I am a wave on the shore
Wanting to go just a little further
But there is something that says, “No more”
And I just quietly go back to where I came from
Mingled in with everything else like me

I wait for the power and the force of the wind
I determine that I will try this again
But this time I will not do so alone
I hear the sound of the boat that groans
Against the force of the coming gale

I now am riding with the breeze
I determine to reach the heights with ease
And I am carried even beyond my sight
And notice I am filled with peace and delight
I am resting in a place much further on than I expected
And it all came from the place where I rested
And waited on the wind

Wow, I might have to do this again…

Trilogy

Trilogy

Light
I see the shadows shifting
Moving across my window pane
The dancing of light in moving motion
It travels down the lane
The moving speaks of time and times
That sing and dance all around
Just what you think is moving up
Is really coming down
As His goodness showers us all

Wind
I cannot see You, I cannot see You
Yet I see You move in what You do
The swaying branches, the rustling leaves
The golden harvest in browning sheaves
The movements, the motions, the sounds, the dance
They level and flatten all mere circumstance
I see You, I see You in all that You do
I see You, I see You making all of me new

Water
The power of droplet, and the cleansing of wave
Universal solvent meets the passion of love
That washes over and over and over again
It cleanses what will be, it cleanses what has been
Even cleansing what is and what is now
Though I know it with my brow
I still cannot comprehend, no, I still cannot comprehend
But I drink it in.

I drink it in
