Slant

The land slants toward the rivers

This is where it leans

And as the land, so goes my heart

Toward seeing what life does mean

I am placed upon a solid rock

And near me wicks of gold

I prepare my heart to travel on

To see the mysterious Love unfold

My journey to the rivers

Goes through the ever-greened wood

With each and every step I take

More Mystery is understood

The clouds move to the rivers

And that is where I drink

I decide to listen to His heart

And not to what I think

The land slants toward the rivers

Because it is cold and dry

And as the land, so goes my heart

Where traveling lower brings me high

The land slants toward the rivers

This is where it leans

And as the land, so goes my heart

I’m seeing now what this life means
