Splashes of color

Filled with delight

Delicate leaflets

Reaching for light

Heaven is knocking

Right on our door

While we are wondering

What we are here for

Infinite wisdom

Creating infinite wonder

Just stopping to see it

Can cause one to ponder

Splashes of color

Filled with delight

SHATTERED

Shattered
I am the face of an orphan
As you can see, my world has been shattered
My dreams are broken; in fact I don’t know what dreams are
My fears keep me closed inside all the time so I cannot see the stars
I know you see pictures of me and feel pity and sadness
Yet I need more
I need you to come and begin mending the pieces together again
I need you to free me so I can run with my friends
I need Love to show up in my life and begin putting it all back together for me
I need to be free. I need to be free.
I need someone who cares enough for me
That they will release me into my destiny
And in the process find their own.

When are you coming? Every day I grow
When are you coming so Love I will know?
Look here through the glass, look into my eyes
See the greater the sacrifice, then the greater the prize
Come and release me into my destiny
When you do you find your own by setting Love free

The Eyes

These are the eyes of a real 4-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy
Who are orphans.
Look deeply and look hard.
It doesn’t take long to feel the hurt and the loneliness, does it?
So what are we going to do with that?
Are we just going to cross to the other side of the road and make just one more excuse?
Or are we going to be the neighbor Jesus asked us to be?
What are we going to do with these eyes?
Oh the time and the love and the time and the love it will take to put the life back in them,
But isn’t it worth it? Just to see those eyes light up with life, isn’t it worth it?
Look deeply and look hard, and feel the loneliness and the hurt, but
Don’t forget to dream with God
Don’t forget to dream about how love restores all things
Including the things we humans can’t replace
